Description

Polylactic acid, also known as PLA or Polyactide, is a polymer polyester material obtained by polymerization of lactic acid or a dimer of lactic acid, lactide, as a monomer. It has the characteristics of being bio based and biodegradable. Polylactic acid, as a thermoplastic material, has good mechanical and processing properties, suitable for main plastic processing processes such as dry extrusion molding, injection molding, extrusion blow molding, spinning, foaming, etc. It is compatible with existing plastic processing equipment.

Polylactic acid originates from natural and fully biodegradable properties, driving the formation of a regeneration and environmental protection system for biomass resources. From the perspective of raw materials, the raw material of poly (lactic acid) is lactic acid fermented from sugar extracted from crops such as corn, vegetables, and sugar beets through deep processing; From the perspective of product disposal, polylactic acid products can be degraded into carbon dioxide and water, and participate in biomass regeneration and environmental processes again through crop photosynthesis.

The PLA produced by Unilong Industry Co., Ltd. is made from crops such as straw and corn, which can be recycled. Generally, industrial compost degrades into carbon dioxide and water within 6 months. The PLA we produce is a medical biodegradable material approved by the FDA.

Application

Polylactic acid is suitable for injection molding, and injection molded products are widely used in packaging, daily necessities, electronic accessories, and other fields.
Polylactic acid can be processed through traditional extrusion processes such as casting, stretching, coating, and blow molding to produce various types of polylactic acid films. Polylactic acid biaxial stretching film, unidirectional stretching die, and casting film have the characteristics of easy printing, heat sealing, and high transparency.
Poly (lactic acid) (PLA) have high molecular weight, narrow molecular weight distribution, and good spinnability. Through melt spinning and other processes, biodegradable fibers with different specifications and properties can be made. Poly (lactic acid) has high strength, natural weak acidity, certain antibacterial properties, as well as good water conductivity and skin affinity, making it widely used in the fields of textile and non-woven fabrics.
Polylactic acid has good additive processing performance, and the 3D printing process has the characteristics of good interlayer adhesion, suitable melting humidity, and no release of reactive gases at high temperatures. It is an ideal molding material for additive manufacturing.
PLA can be blown into high gloss, high transparency, or semi transparent blown products.
Polylactic acid is suitable for processing on conventional extrusion molding equipment and can be made into different forms of sheets to adapt to different production requirements.
